Custom software · Minneapolis

Custom software, built your way. Paid for monthly.

Large companies get software built around how they work. Small businesses usually get a quote they can't pay. We build to your exact requirements and charge a monthly subscription, so enterprise-grade systems are finally within reach.

The same subscription, every month.

How you pay

The fit of custom software. The bill of a SaaS subscription.

Until now, a small business had two choices: bend its process around an off-the-shelf tool, or find the money for a custom project. We offer a third.

What we build

Enterprise-grade, sized for a small business.

The same foundations larger companies expect, on every system we build.

  • Role-based access
  • Audit trails
  • Backups
  • Electronic signatures
  • AI document reading
  • Hosting on AWS
  • Your data stays yours

Custom software and portals

Customer and staff portals, CRMs with electronic signing, document storage and the validation rules your business actually follows. Built around your forms and your process, not a template.

AI automation and document reading

AI reads scanned forms, pulls out the fields that matter and queues them for a person to confirm. Follow-ups and reminders run on a schedule instead of a sticky note.

Hosting and email

Fast, secure hosting and business email on your own domain, managed on AWS by the team that built your software. One call when something needs to change.

Digital marketing and SEO

Once your systems are running, we can help fill them. Paid search and social ads, plus an ongoing SEO plan, reported on inquiries and customers rather than impressions.

How we work

How a small team makes this affordable.

  1. Map your requirements

We sit with the people doing the work and write down every form, check and hand-off before any code exists.

  2. Agree on a monthly price

You know what you'll pay each month before we start, so you can budget for it like any other subscription.

  3. Build fast with AI

AI-assisted development and data migration let a small team ship in weeks what used to take quarters. That's what makes the monthly model work.

  4. Run it and measure

We host it, secure it, back it up and keep it current. We track completion times, follow-ups and staff hours, and adjust from there.

Our work

Software we've built.

Tinybinder and RocketCubs are our own products. AskyDoc and the Eureka Kids portal are custom software we built for clients.

Our product

Tinybinder

One platform for childcare enrollment and compliance.

Tinybinder grew out of the portal we built for Eureka Kids. It knows what each child needs, collects it from the family, checks it, and keeps watching as documents expire.

See who has opened, started and finished

Every step a family takes appears on your dashboard, from opening the invite to finishing each section. Each family has its own timeline, and you can see how long they've been idle.

Animated walkthrough. A director invites a parent. As the parent opens the email, taps the link, signs in, starts and finishes the first section, the dashboard moves through Invited, Opened, Clicked, Signed in, Started and step 1 of 8.

Annual updates without paper packets

Reminders go out automatically before a document expires. Parents renew from their phone, and directors review and approve. If a family doesn't respond, the reminders escalate to the director.

Animated walkthrough. A reminder reaches a parent 21 days before a healthcare summary expires. The parent uploads a renewal from their phone, the director approves it, and school compliance rises from 91 to 93 percent.

Paper packets become records, and new schools go live

Scanned packets are read and turned into child records for a director to review, with unsure answers flagged. A new school is live as soon as it's added, with its forms and parent link ready.

Animated walkthrough. A nine-page paper packet is uploaded and split into forms. A director reviews the answers and approves, which creates a child record. Corporate then adds a new school, whose parent page works right away.

For parents

  • Enroll on a phone, one question at a time, with progress saved along the way.
  • Open their child's file at any time and update their information.
  • Re-sign when a change requires it.

For directors

  • Each child's binder and compliance status is a click away.
  • Export a binder as one PDF.
  • See what's complete, expiring, overdue or waiting for review.

For corporate

  • See compliance across every school, state and brand.
  • Spot schools below your threshold.
  • Add a new school when you're ready.

Built for Telecura Healthcare Solutions

AskyDoc

A full telemedicine platform, from booking to prescription.

We built AskyDoc for Telecura Healthcare Solutions. It runs the whole visit in one system, so patients and doctors don't need separate tools for scheduling, payment and follow-up.

  • Booking: patients choose a doctor, a time and an appointment type.
  • Payments: a fixed fee, shown and paid up front.
  • Online appointments: video and phone consultations and chat, alongside in-person visits.
  • Prescriptions and lab orders: issued online and available in the patient's account.

Built for Eureka Kids

Eureka Kids Parent and Staff Portal

Enrollment paperwork that used to take a month, moved online.

Before

Licensing paperwork for a new family took close to a month. Staff checked emergency contacts and physician addresses by hand, and annual renewals depended on someone remembering to ask.

What we built

A parent portal for registration, electronic signatures, and health, allergy and emergency details. A staff portal with built-in validation, document management and centralized storage. Annual items, such as the healthcare summary Minnesota requires each year, are tracked and reminded automatically.

Result

Families complete enrollment online, incomplete forms are caught before they reach a director, and renewals chase themselves.

Our product

RocketCubs

A free hub of learning games for kindergarten through 5th grade.

Kids play in the browser on an iPad, Chromebook, phone or desktop. Stars earned in any game add to one total, which they can spend on outfits for their cub.

  • Four games so far: State Explorer, Unicorn Math, Rainforest Rangers and Fuel the Hero.
  • Private by design: no ads, no accounts, no logins and no personal information.
  • Pages for grown-ups: guides for parents and for teachers using it in the classroom.

About

Built by enterprise engineers who saw the gap.

Read Innovations is a custom software company in Minneapolis, started by a group of software engineers with more than 15 years in the industry building enterprise solutions.

Those years showed us the gap. Large companies could have software built around how they work, and smaller companies and small businesses could not afford the same. That's why we built Read Innovations: to bring enterprise-grade solutions to small businesses, at a monthly cost they can plan around.

We treat data security as the starting point: role-based access, auditability, backups and clear data ownership. Client data belongs to the client.
